Ninth Annual PDQ Award

This year will mark the 9th Annual PDQ Award. Who would have thought we’d make it this far?

When we announced Vector as the first winner of the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award in 2005, we imagined moving the cause forward of alarm dispatch reduction. We believe the award has done that. Year after year, visibility of superior alarm management practices grows. We see this in better local ordinances and the adoption by monitoring companies of best practices – like two-call verification (ECV – Enhanced Call Verification).

SIAC is proud to have gotten in on the ground floor of the PDQ program, and stayed with it, along with other crucial sponsors like Honeywell, the False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA), Security Sales & Integration magazine, and the Installation Quality (IQ) program. To achieve wide recognition and involvement by companies in the security industry, it takes a coordinated effort and support from many parties. Pulling together, we’ve been able to make the program a success, and move the dial in the right direction in our goal to reduced unwanted dispatches.

If you haven’t entered the contest before, go to our Web site to check out the details: http://siacinc.org/PDQAwards.aspx. It’s a worthwhile exercise to examine your dispatch reduction program. Entering the contest will help you evaluate your own program, and make it better. And if you are like past winners, Vector (two-time winner), Brink’s Home Security, Alarm Detection Systems, Customer Alarm, HS Technology, Atronic Alarms, Broadview Security (currently ADT Security), you’ll get publicity, recognition and a selling point with your customers.
